Heidi R. Goettel  Partner

Heidi R. Goettel, a Helena native, is a Partner in the Helena Commercial Department, but also serves clients in Bozeman and across the state. Heidi's practice focuses primarily on estate and trust planning and administration, including planning for special circumstances, such as blended families, same-sex couples, planning for minor and special needs beneficiaries, planning for companion animals, long-term care and Medicaid planning, gift and estate tax planning, charitable giving, and business succession planning including farms and ranches. Other practice areas include real estate transactions and leasing, and for-profit and non-profit business formation, governance, and transactions. She graduated with high honors from the University of Montana in 2002 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and from the University of Montana School of Law in 2005. Heidi also received certification in Alternative Dispute resolution from the University of Montana School of Law and promotes the use of facilitative mediation to resolve conflicts. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves on the State Bar of Montana Elderly Assistance Committee. She served six years on the board of directors of the Lewis & Clark County Community Foundation and is currently organizing a pro bono facilitative mediation program for parenting plans in the Helena Office.
